This tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Valparaiso (or Viña del Mar), heading east to the acclaimed Casablanca Valley, setting off at 9am.
The first stop is a visit to Bodegas RE, an experimental and forward-thinking winery established by Pablo Morandé — the trailblazer who introduced the very first grapevines to the Casablanca Valley in 1982. This winery masterfully combines ancestral techniques with cutting edge technology, and is renowned for its distinctive co-fermentations and its use of traditional oak barrels as well as clay amphoras, reviving centuries-old Chilean winemaking traditions. Their philosophy of embracing the past while exploring new frontiers has earned them ongoing praise, and their wines frequently rate among the best in Chile by top industry publications.

Next, you’ll head to Atilio & Mochi, a small-scale winery born from the shared dream of Marcos Atilio and his wife, Angela Mochi, to cultivate vines in the heart of Casablanca Valley. Motivated by a love for cool-climate varietals — both red and white — they planted four hectares in 2011 with eight different grape varieties, including the region’s first Grenache. The couple are active members of MOVI (Chile’s Independent Winemakers Movement), challenging the status quo of Chilean winemaking by focusing on authenticity, lesser-known varieties, and outstanding quality. Their dedication shows in the accolades: 95 points for their Malbec (La Cav), and 93 points for both Grenache and Cabernet Franc (James Suckling).
